Momentive RTV116 single-component, ready-to-use sealants are extremely versatile. They cure into a tough, durable, resilient silicone rubber when exposed to atmospheric moisture at room temperature. Acetic acid vapors are released from the sealant surface as a byproduct of the curing process.

RTV116 sealant is a self-leveling sealant. RTV 116 sealants are high-temperature sealants by design. Since all these sealants use a moisture-curing system, they should not be used in thicknesses exceeding 6 mm (1/4 in.). For cross-sectional depths exceeding 6 mm (1/4 in.), GE Silicones single-component, extra-curing, or two-component silicone rubber compounds are recommended.
