Permabond Initiator 46 is a specialized activator/initiator used in combination with specific Permabond structural acrylates (such as TA4246) to achieve fast and reliable curing. The product acts as the “activating” component in a two-component bonding system, whereby the initiator is applied to one surface and the adhesive (such as an acrylic adhesive) to the other. Once the two come into contact, the curing process begins, resulting in a strong structural bond.
Key features:
• Activation of structural acrylates: designed to activate and accelerate the action of Permabond “no-mix” structural adhesives.
• Easy to use: apply the initiator to one surface and the adhesive to the other for immediate reaction.
• Small packaging with brush: the approx. 35 ml bottle often has an integrated brush for precise application.
• Accelerates curing: provides shorter processing and curing times at room temperature when combined with the appropriate Permabond adhesive.
Application:
Permabond Initiator 46 is always used in structural bonding systems based on methyl methacrylate adhesives. It enables strong bonds to be achieved between various materials such as metals, plastics, glass, and composites by effectively starting the curing process.
